Annually many people from near and far make a pilgrimage to the mercy mother of Maria Rast to find help and consolation in their concerns.

The pilgrimage at the "Hainzenberg" began 1659. In 1741 Josef Michael Schmutzer created the marvellous cover painting with representations from the Marien's life and in 1748 it was equipped with a nice rococo altar of Stefan Föger. In 1756 the ceremonious inauguration of the pilgrimage church took place. After a break-down of rock in 1914 the mercy site was restored in 1923/24.
