Paragliding in Zell am Ziller

Experience the unique feeling of flying – paragliding in Zillertal!

You can make this wish come true in Zell im Zillertal. As a long-standing Paragliding World Cup venue, Zell is located in one of the most beautiful flying areas in Europe. You will fly over the treetops and glide past steep mountain slopes down into the valley with a certified tandem pilot with many years of flying experience. Passengers (aged 4 and over, up to 120 kg) do not need any previous experience and can rest assured that they are in safe hands. In winter, it is preferable to take off wearing skis.

Action fans watch out!

The possibilities in the Zillertal Arena, the largest ski area in Zillertal, are not just virtually endless in winter. Several highlights await action fans in Zillertal! The Arena Coaster, the Almflieger Gerlosstein, water fun with rafting & canyoning and much more is on offer for action fans in the Zillertal Arena.

Arena Coaster

The 1,450 m of coaster fun starts at the bottom station in Zell and is THE year-round attraction for all ages with several waves, steep curves and jumps.

Almflieger Gerlosstein

The Almflieger, a further development of the flying fox, offers all Arena guests even more fun, action and an incomparable bird’s eye view.

Rafting & canyoning

Climbing, swimming or abseiling while canyoning or sections with spraying water along the Ziller River while rafting. Action enthusiasts will experience a whitewater adventure here.

Riverbug

Riverbug is certainly the coolest invention for whitewater, brand new and with a huge fun factor! It turns every whitewater tour into an exceptional experience.

3D archery course

Three-dimensional animal figures made of various materials create a very real bow hunting adventure. In the Zillertal Arena, archers get their money’s worth on the Talbach via ferrata with approx. 30 3D and 2D obstacles.

E-Trial track and E-Quad course

There is now a new kids’ E-Trial track and E-Quad course on two separate tracks close to Berghotel Gerlosstein. The E-Quad track is already suitable for very young riders, the E-Trial track is for 6 years and over.

Gerlossteinwand Alpine via ferrata

Probably the most impressive wall in Zillertal – the Gerlossteinwand – can be climbed by via ferrata. As a result, athletes and climbers willing to climb it can enjoy the 400-metre route in compact rock.

Talbach via ferrata

The Talbach via ferrata is set up so you can climb slowly. The easy entrance area is ideal for beginners and children. In the lower part the difficulty increases slowly – perfect to test your limits.

Excursion tips

As a holiday resort, Zell offers its visitors countless different entertainment options, alongside a good infrastructure. Experience culture with all your senses – at the local history museum, on various themed trails, in the show dairy or simply during a “Huagacht” (chat) on the mountain farm.

Gold Mine & Wildlife Park

Take part in one of the great adventures of past centuries at the gold mine. Afterwards you can explore the extensive animal enclosure with native mountain game, small game and many other small animals.

Themed hiking trails

Seeing, feeling, smelling, tasting, hearing – enjoy the “mountain experience” in a simple and relaxed fashion. Explore the forest and discover its secrets, be amazed at the rustling of the forest.

BrauKunstHaus

The new BrauKunstHaus offers Tyrolean beer culture for all the senses. Discover how the province and its people influence the Zillertal beer specialities during an exciting, multimedia tour and learn many of the region’s secrets.

Churches & chapels

Whether it’s a romantically situated mountain chapel or the imposing “Zillertal Cathedral” – the parish church of Zell am Ziller – all places of worship are most inviting. Enjoy the peace and quiet and time for prayer.

During a visit to the Zillertal Regional Museum in Zell am Ziller you will learn a lot of interesting facts about our ancestors’ lives and work.

Zillertaler Höhenstraße

The Zillertaler Höhenstraße is one of the most beautiful alpine roads in Austria and offers every visitor a wonderful drive up to an altitude of 2,020 metres.

Rosenalm Zell am Ziller

On the Rosenalm there is a magical place of fantasy – the Spruce Tree Castle. The Spruce Sprites have also expanded their habitat around the new Spruce Lake!

Almparadies Gerlosstein

There are many new attractions to discover on the Gerlosstein adventure mountain under the motto “back to the source”. Almpromenade, petting zoo and much more.
