The municipality of Zellberg is situated on the left bank of the Ziller River opposite Zell am Ziller and consists of two parts of town – Zellberg and Zellbergeben. The local municipality with about 650 inhabitants was first officially mentioned in a document in 1318.

The small municipality of Rohrberg stretches partly in the valley and partly over the steep slopes of the sunny Rohrberg. It consists of the Rohr, Haslach, Hochfeld parts of town and the scattered developments on the western slope of the Karspitze.

The south-facing slopes at the entrance to the Gerlostal valley are occupied by the municipality of Gerlosberg. In the south, the municipality is bordered by the bubbling Gerlosbach stream, which flows through a deeply cut gorge towards the Ziller.

Hainzenberg is a commuter community characterised by agriculture and tourism and lies at the foot of the mighty Gerlossteinwand. The settlement area extends from 540 m to 1,100 m above sea level.
