Ski touring & snowshoeing

The new craze in the Alps is ski touring. Special skis with skins for a good grip uphill and special ski boots: that’s all you need, and you’re perfectly equipped for ski touring on your winter holiday in Pinzgau. Explore the Salzburg and Tirol mountains almost like you would in summer – except you’re on skis. Scale a 3,000 m-plus peak in the Hohe Tauern or take it easier on a hut-to-hut tour – the choice is yours. Ski touring is strenuous, but definitely worth the effort (and a try). Snowshoeing is another way to enjoy the untouched winter landscape. Discover forests blanketed in white and animal tracks that disappear into the snow.

Kristallbad Wald

Highlights such as the 50-metre long tube slide, the special children’s pool with various attractions and the natural water garden ensure lots of different swimming fun.

National Park Centre

The 1,800 m² Hohe Tauern National Park Worlds in Mittersill are among the most modern national park centres in Europe.

Krimml Waterfalls

The Krimml Waterfalls – the largest waterfalls in Europe – are not only a breathtaking natural spectacle in summer, but also show their most beautiful and romantic side in winter.

Tobogganing fun

Toboggan run in Wald: The short toboggan run at Finkenhof in Wald is partly floodlit in the evening until 8.00 p.m. and its gentle gradient makes it perfect for young tobogganers.

Toboggan run in Königsleiten: The start of the toboggan run is behind the Ursprungs Panorama Hotel. Whizz through the romantic snow-covered landscape 950 m down to Alte Gerlosstraße, the B 165 road.
