    The five side valleys

    Schwarzachtal

    Schwarzachtal

The Schwarzachtal is a destination for the whole family in summer and winter with a farm track suitable for prams. The hiking trail starts at the Gasthof Kühle Rast in Gerlos. The Jausenstation Schwarzachalm with large children’s playground can be reached on foot in 35 minutes.
    Wimmertal

    Wimmertal

The Wimmertal is the most rustic of the Gerlos side valleys. A hike into the narrow valley that stretches up to the 2,536 m high Wimmerscharte at the end is definitely very rewarding. The hiking trail leads through lush green alpine meadows along the rushing Wimmerbach stream.
    Schönachtal

    Schönachtal

The Schönachtal branches off behind the music pavilion in Gerlos and the path leads gently uphill past cosy mountain farms where you can stop off for refreshment. The three-thousand-metre peaks of the Reichenspitzgruppe are always in view.
    Wildgerlostal

    Wildgerlostal

The Wildgerlostal stretches southwards from the Durlassboden reservoir. The highest peak is the Wildkarspitze at 3,073 m. The typical trough valley runs parallel to the Schönachtal and also forms the border to Tirol. The end of the valley is occupied by the Wildgerloskees. This is the source of the Gerlosbach, which flows through the valley.
    Krummbachtal

    Krummbachtal

The Krummbachtal is the “thumb” of the five Gerlos side valleys and begins at the Isskogelbahn car park. Heading towards the hamlet of Innertal you will reach the Krummbach bridge after just 700 metres. From here the hiking trail starts slightly uphill into the Krummbachtal to the Prölleralm and then to the Krummbachrast with its own show dairy.
